Safety concept / measures and precautions

SIAF is fully aware of its responsibility towards guests, partners, service providers and employees and adheres to the guidelines of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the legal requirements of the COVID-19 ordinance and the labor law.

We enjoy the privilege of welcoming you back to the University as part of our evening lectures, we conduct them with Covid-19 certificate obligation (vaccinated, recovered or tested negative)* and apply the relevant security concept. The Covid certificate is intended to ensure that events are held safely, as the risk of infection for visitors is kept low. At events with Covid certification, the full capacity of the room can be used and masks are not mandatory. In contrast, such a requirement exists in all publicly accessible indoor rooms of the UZH. General information about the University of Zurich can be found on the corresponding website, in particular on regulations and the safety concepts.

We urge everyone to personally contribute to their own safety and the safety of all others:

  • Adhere to the behavioral and precautionary measures according to the FOPH at all times.
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or disinfect your hands.
  • Keep a distance of 1.5 meters from each other.
  • Where this minimum distance cannot be maintained, protect yourself and others by wearing a mask. At the University, this is mandatory from the time you enter the building until you reach your seat, as well as after the event has ended.

  • If you have not been feeling well or have shown acute symptoms of respiratory illness in the past 10 days, please refrain from attending: If you have symptoms of illness, you may be refused to attend.
  • Admission will only be granted upon presentation of your Covid certificate in conjunction with your ID.

In addition to the event at the university, we will broadcast speech and discussion live on the Internet. This allows for a virtual presence if there is no more space available on site or if one does not want to or cannot attend the event in person for other reasons.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

* A Covid certificate is a document that proves that a person has been vaccinated against Corona, has recently tested negative for Corona, or has had a Corona illness. Such persons are very unlikely to spread Covid infection.

The Covid certificate is being issued by vaccination centres, testing centres, hospitals and other medical facilities, although the availability and method of obtaining it may vary from canton to canton.

The Covid certificate is implemented in the form of a QR code, which can be presented digitally as a PDF or printed out on paper. There is also an app in which the certificate can be saved.
