Pioneering spirit to invent the future

With his dual identity of explorer and medical doctor, Bertrand Piccard combines science, psychology and adventure to motivate audiences to go beyond the obvious and reach their goals.

Based on the experience of achieving two historic firsts like flying around the world non-stop in a balloon and without fuel in a solar-powered airplane – which both were considered to be impossible feats – he shares his knowledge about throwing believes, certitudes and habits over board, as ballast, in order to find new ways of thinking.

Through the themes of team building, human communication, relations with partners and leadership, he will explain how to start a project when nobody believes in it.

He will also touch on paradigm shifts in entrepreneurial decisions as well as in protection of the environment, and share his vision on innovation and crisis management, courage and confidence.

Dr Bertrand Piccard

Explorer, psychiatrist and "inspioneer”

Psychiatrist and explorer, Bertrand Piccard made history by accomplishing two aeronautical firsts – flying around the world non-stop in a balloon, and more recently in a solar-powered airplane plane without fuel. Pioneer in his way to consider ecology through the lens of profitability, he began working in the early 2000s to promote renewable energies and clean technologies. As Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation, he has succeeded in his mission to select 1000 profitable solutions to protect the environment and support clean growth.
